Podcasts are growing in popularity. Millions of people are listening to podcasts every day, mainly on their mobile phones. It is a great channel to distribute your content and connect with your audience. With podcasts, you don’t have to worry about the distribution as well; services like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and other podcast platforms, have thousands of podcasts in their catalogues and your podcast can be one of them. It won’t cost you anything to publish your podcast to these platforms and I will tell you how you can do this for free in this article. But let’s discuss first…

Why people love podcasts?

Podcasts are popular mainly because people can listen to them while doing other things. While commuting on a train or a bus, when driving, running exercising, also when they clean their house, doing dishes or cooking, and also in many other situations. That’s why podcasts are so popular and millions of people are listening to podcasts every day.

How can you quickly record and publish a podcast?

Anchor.fm is an online service that lets you easily and quickly record and distribute a podcast for free.

You need to register and login but once you have done this you can record your podcast on a desktop computer on the Anchor.fm website or using Anchor.fm mobile app on iOS or Android.

You can record your voice directly in the app, or upload an audio or video file. You can add your podcast name and a cover (an image that represents your podcast; you can also select an image from a library that Anchor.fm provides) and you can also add a description of your podcast - what the podcast is about. Once you have done this you can publish your podcast to all major platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and others. It takes from a few hours to a few days to publish your podcast (it depends on the platform). This is how easy it is to create your podcast and it costs you nothing. Anchor.fm also hosts your podcast so you can embed your podcast on a website with a nice player (see an example below).
